The Vitamin C Glow: Why Your Serum Might Not Be Working šŸŠ

I have a deep love for Vitamin C, and for good reason! With our intense Australian sun, a good ā€˜C’ has some powerful reparative effects, targeting sun damage, protecting your skin's future, all whilst boosting collagen.

But you may have purchased a product with Vitamin C on the label, with high hopes for brighter, firmer skin, only to see... nothing. It’s frustrating, but here’s the gentle truth: many products proudly boast "Vitamin C" on the label, but they aren't necessarily effective.

Many brands use unstable derivatives or formulas that lose their potency before they even reach your skin. The gold standard Vit C ingredient isĀ L-Ascorbic Acid... but because this ingredient is so active, it’s also "finicky." If it isn’t formulated for stability and at the right concentration, it won't deliver the results you're looking for.

Finding Your Epicure Match 🧪

Depending on your skin’s current state and goals, I may recommend two different pathways for introducing Vitamin C into your routine, usingĀ Epicure Cosmeceuticals:

• The Powerhouse:Ā Epicure Vitamin C Serum (20%). This uses an optimal, high-concentration stabilised L-Ascorbic Acid, blended withĀ collagen-supporting peptides. While Vitamin C brightens and protects, the peptides act as messengers, boosting your skin's firmness and bounce. ✨

• The Gentle Guardian:Ā Epicure Recovery Serum. For those with acne-prone or sensitive barriers, I recommend using a smaller, stable dose of Vitamin C blended with a B-complex. This combination supports the skin barrier and boosts hydration, giving you that glow without potential irritation or "breakouts" šŸ›”ļø

The Studio Success Guide:

1.Ā The Layering Ritual:Ā Apply 1x pump to clean skin in the morning. Always follow with a moisturiser and SPF!ā˜€ļøĀ

2.Ā The Slow Start:Ā If you are new to 20% concentrations and have a history of 'sensitive' skin, start every second morning to let your skin adjust.

3.Ā The Freshness Factor:Ā Keep your bottle in a cool, dark place (like a drawer) to keep the ingredients active and stable. Give it a shake before useĀ

Like most things in skin, it won't happen overnight, but say it with me…. ā€œconsistency is key with Vitamin C!ā€

It is one non-negotiable in my own skincare routine.

Kindly,
